Telegram Mini Apps Worth Copying in 2026: Product Patterns, Not Clicker Clones

The interesting Mini Apps in 2026 are not Hamster copies. Seven product patterns I would actually steal: group-native tools, a dual PWA door, exclusive drops, internal ops, one-job AI, matching without a fleet, and Stars as the receipt - not the product.

Most “Mini App ideas” I still get in briefs are the same screenshot: a hamster, a tap, a token. That wave already happened. Hamster, Notcoin, Blum, Catizen taught Telegram how to distribute an app to tens of millions. They did not teach you how to sell a course, split a trip, or run a salon. Copying their loop without a token and a media budget is a hobby with a leaderboard.

The interesting work in 2026 sits on surfaces Telegram already has and a website does not: a group chat with context, identity without a password, a MainButton that is the checkout, a bot that can ping the same people tomorrow. I already wrote what a Mini App is. This piece is the product menu: patterns I would steal from real tools, then strip down for a business that already talks in Telegram.

1. Seven patterns at a glance

Each row is a different job. Steal the job, not the brand.

  • Group-native tool: expense split, shared list, duty roster. The Mini App is opened from a group; `chat_instance` is the workspace. Settler and Fracti do this for money. A flat share or a trip fund is the same shape.
  • Dual door: one codebase as a Telegram Mini App and as a PWA. Subeasy tracks subscriptions this way - local-first, then sync. Useful when some customers live in Telegram and some refuse to.
  • Exclusive drop: a VIP channel is the waitlist; the Mini App is the store that opens for 20 minutes. Fashion and limited merch already do this instead of dying in Instagram DMs.
  • Internal ops in a group that already exists: a visual kanban (The Wall), a duty board, even a terminal-in-the-pocket (Teletty) for a tiny ops team. No App Store, whitelist by Telegram id.
  • One-job AI in the sheet: photo of a receipt → split; “I’m driving Lviv → Kyiv at 9” → a match. CarryTON-style route matching and receipt-split tools win because the chat is already the intake.
  • Matching without a fleet: ride, parcel, errand. The Mini App is the board; TON escrow or a normal invoice is the lock. You do not need to own cars. You need trust and a dispute path.
  • Stars as the receipt, not the game: unlock a lesson, a week of premium, a pack of AI credits. The Wall sells team seats this way. I would use Stars when the good is digital and the buyer is already in Telegram.

2. Why these patterns fit Telegram and a website does not

A website is a door for strangers. A Mini App is a tool for people who already share a chat. If you ignore that, you paste a cramped landing page into a webview and wonder why conversion is worse than the site.

  • Group context is free. `chat_type` and `chat_instance` let you scope data to this trip, this flat, this shift - without inventing a “create workspace” screen.
  • Distribution is a link in a channel you already own. Hamster proved referral loops. A local shop does not need that. It needs the regulars who already write “is there a table at 8?”
  • The bot is the notification layer Mini Apps still lack. Push inside a webview is weak on iOS. A message in the group is not.

3. What I would steal from the viral apps - and what I would leave

Blum, Catizen, Bankii onboarding - the mechanics are not the product. The mechanics are how they kept a stranger for seven days. A real business can borrow three of them. The rest is costume.

  • Steal: a three-screen first open that cannot be skipped forever. Catizen loops the tutorial. Your salon Mini App can loop “pick a service → pick a slot → pay a deposit” until it is done.
  • Steal: a share that is a gift, not a shout. “Invite the other payer into this split” is a referral with a reason. “Invite 10 friends for coins” is a pyramid with extra steps.
  • Leave: daily streaks as the product. A streak is glue for a game. For a booking app it is a guilt mechanic that makes people mute the bot.
  • Leave: an in-app token unless you are actually launching one. Play-to-earn without a chain is just a points table that nobody can cash.

4. How I would pick a first Mini App for a real business

I would not start with “we need a Mini App.” I would start with a chat that already loses money or time. Then I would pick the closest pattern and delete the rest.

  • A trip group or a flat share arguing in a spreadsheet → group expense Mini App. I wrote that example next.
  • Customers half in Telegram, half on a link from Instagram → same UI as Mini App and PWA. Third article in this series.
  • A channel that already hypes drops, then dies in Direct → timed Mini App catalog, inventory lock, invoice. I wrote that example in this series; the product is the clock, not a full shop.
  • A team that already lives in a work group and pastes screenshots of Trello → a small board Mini App. I wrote the ten-card version in this series. Not Jira.

5. Stack I would open with for any of these

Same as the Mini App explainer: Next.js, Postgres keyed by Telegram id, a small bot, initData checked on the server. The pattern only changes the domain table.

  • Group tools: a `workspace` row per `chat_instance`, members from Telegram user ids, MainButton = “add expense” / “settle.”
  • Dual door: feature-detect `window.Telegram.WebApp.initData`. Telegram path validates HMAC. Browser path is a normal session. Shared UI, two auth adapters.
  • Drops: SKU with `starts_at` / `qty`. The bot posts the deep link at `starts_at`. The Mini App refuses checkout if stock is gone. Webhook is still the source of paid.

The Mini App is interesting when the chat is the workplace

I would copy a pattern from Settler, Subeasy, a drop, or a tiny ops board long before I copied a clicker. The clicker needed a token and a launch. Your customers already opened the messenger this morning. If you want a group expense split, a dual PWA door, a timed drop, a ten-card board, or a Mini App that matches one of the jobs above - write via the form. We will pick the smallest version that finishes that job this month, not a hamster with your logo.
