What can you order as a web app?
- Next.js / React web apps – catalog with an account, booking, dashboard, checkout.
- Fullstack in one app: Server Components, Server Actions, API Routes, PostgreSQL / Prisma.
- Not a brochure: login, state, payments, ops – the user comes back to do work.
- An MVP that takes a real action this month. Manual ops behind the UI are allowed.
How does a web app project start?
- 1Name the action: book a slot, send an invoice, save a row. Constraint first – one role, one flow.
- 2Smallest Next.js app that can do that in production. No slide named “migration.”
- 3Then iterate: a second role, a report, a webhook – after the first loop closes.
Questions about web apps
Website or web app?
A site shows the offer and takes a request. A web app has login, state, and repeat actions – a dashboard, a booking calendar, a checkout the user comes back to. If they return to do work, it is an application.
What stack do you use?
Next.js and React by default. TypeScript, PostgreSQL / Prisma, Tailwind. Not a mesh of services for a first version.
How long is an MVP?
A bounded MVP – one flow that takes a real action – is usually weeks, not a quarter. Scope stays on the email thread, not in a 40-page brief.
